Who We Are

Catonsville Assembly of God is engaged in building a community of truth, love, and fellowship.  We know that God is drawing a diverse family of men, women, and children into a relationship with Himself and fellowship with one another.  People from all walks of life are discovering their place in the family of God through the love of Christ Jesus.  We are learning the true Word of God and living it with the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

We are a self-governing, local congregation of the largest pentecostal denomination, the Assemblies of God.  We currently enjoy an average weekly attendance of 140.  The Assemblies of God has slightly over 12,000 churches in the United States, with a total constituency of 2.7 million.  The Assemblies of God has active ministry in 191 countries, with a total membership over 40 million.

 

What We Believe

We believe... 

  • In the Bible as the inspired and infallible Word of God, (2Timothy 3:15-16)
  • In one God, Eternally Existent in three persons:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29)
  • In the virgin birth of Christ, His vicarious, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and ascension, (Isaiah 7:14; Romans 8:34; Acts 1:10)
  • In salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ, (1John 5:10; Romans 10:13-15)
  • In water baptism by immersion, (Matthew 28:19)
  • In divine healing through the redemptive work of Christ on the cross, (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:13-14)
  • In the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues, (Acts 2:4; 10:44-46; 15:8-9)
  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit who enables a believer to live holy, (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Peter 1:15-16)
  • In the second coming of Jesus Christ, (Acts 24:15; Luke 14:14; Revelation 19:7-9)
